John Collier is a Data Solutions Analyst supporting, maintaining, and continually improving Built for Zero’s data systems. John joined Community Solutions from What Works Cities, an initiative helping local governments improve residents’ lives by using data and evidence effectively to tackle pressing challenges. As a Data Analyst at What Works Cities, John managed the data for 200+ cities participating in the WWC Certification program. Prior to that, John was Manager of Research at the Greater Ohio Policy Center — developing, managing, and conducting high-quality research projects focused on local, state, and national issues related to urban revitalization and sustainable growth.
Originally from Toledo, Ohio, John currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. John received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in Economics and his master’s degree in Applied Urban Science and Informatics from New York University. Outside of work, John’s interests include studying the history of public transportation systems, biking in Prospect Park, and playing acoustic guitar.
