April is a Systems Improvement Advisor/Community Coach with the Path to Zero team. Before joining Community Solutions, April found success in her role as an attorney with the The Detroit Land Bank Authority, where she handled litigation matters for the Nuisance Abatement team, helping to identify abandoned and blighted properties in Detroit and bring them to productive use. As a business coach and strategist with ALM Legacy Consulting, April helped small business owners secure their business foundations and reach individual goals using her unique problem-solving and collaborative skillset. Witnessing the hurdles faced by entrepreneurs and small businesses, she recognized the profound impact of systemic issues on individual success and community growth. Now, she is eager to bring this experience to her role assisting communities in devising innovative and sustainable solutions to the multifaceted challenges of homelessness. April is licensed to practice law in Michigan, and holds a Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Central Michigan University. Based in Metro Detroit, Michigan, she is committed to working towards the equitable elimination of homelessness and believes in its attainability.
