Fresno to join national campaign to end homelessness

  |  November 13, 2014

Fresno was selected as one of 68 U.S. communities to participate in “Zero: 2016,” a national campaign to end veteran and chronic homelessness in the next two years.

The movement is spearheaded by Community Solutions, a national nonprofit based in New York City. The organization worked with the Fresno Housing Authority and Fresno Madera Continuum of Care to help 439 homeless people find housing between 2011 and this year.

The nonprofit has committed again to working with Fresno to meet federal goals set by President Obama to end veteran homelessness by December 2015 and chronic homelessness by December 2016.
