A nonprofit working to combat homelessness in communities across the country is expanding its efforts, thanks to a new grant.

According to Community Solutions’ website, the organization was awarded $100 million from The MacArthur Foundation’s 100andChange competition.

The competition, which launched with more than 750 proposals, awards a grant to an organization or a collaboration working to solve a critical problem in the world.

Jake Maguire, a principal at Built for Zero Community Solutions, says the funding, which will be divided among 75 communities throughout the United States, will be used to accelerate the impact of the Built for Zero movement, which aims to end chronic or veteran homelessness by 2026.
