As Director of External Affairs at Community Solutions, she serves as a bridge and driver for communications that engage our funding partners, policy partners, community partners, and other allies. Gurmet brings over 10 years of experience in government relations, strategic communications, and community engagement.
Before joining Community Solutions, Gurmet worked as Senior Outreach Liaison for the film industry, where she acted as a liaison between the film industry, community, and government partners in Los Angeles. Gurmet helped remove the industry’s red tape by ensuring they remained relevant to the region. Additionally, she worked for the City of Los Angeles as Deputy District Director for the Office of Councilmember Paul Koretz. She developed legislation, managed relationships, and advocated for the community in City Hall.
Gurmet holds a Master of Public Administration and Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Northridge. Gurmet is based in California, and in her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and do-it-yourself projects.
