In today’s edition of the “Good Stuff,” we honor an organization that has built over 100,000 homes for people in need. CNN’s Chris Cuomo reports. 100,000 Homes promised to house that number of homeless Americans in four years and just got it done ahead of schedule. The group works with communities in virtually every big American city to find their homeless population “permanent supportive housing.” The deadline was next month, but as of today, more than 101,000 people are off the streets. That number includes more than 30,000 veterans. All of this actually saves money, because it costs a lot less to provide a home than to keep paying for the effects of homelessness. The group estimates that 1.3 billion taxpayer dollars have been saved so far.
