Marco Castro is a Data Visualization Developer helping to translate Community Solutions’ data findings to more readable media. Most recently, Marco was the Senior Manager of Data and Evaluation at Make the Road (MRNY), a social services and community advocacy organization in New York City, where he designed data systems and looked for opportunities to advance organizational impact. Prior to MRNY, Marco conducted research focusing on community and economic needs in the West Bronx to develop programmatic solutions and services with the Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation and the Department of Small Business Services. Marco’s focus on democratizing complex issues through visual communication and technology builds off of his first career as a graphic designer and web developer. He holds a master’s degree in Public Policy and Leadership and a certification in Geographic Information Science from CUNY Hunter College. In his spare time, Marco is an avid maker/tinkerer, and enjoys hiking and biking.
