NEW YORK, July 8, 2024 — Community Solutions announced today that Eric Fornell has been elected to serve as Chair of its Board of Directors.
“I am delighted that Eric Fornell has agreed to serve Community Solutions as Chair of the Board. His wisdom, effectiveness, and dedication to our mission have distinguished his work as Finance Committee Chair where he oversaw the creation of our community investment program and housing acquisition fund,” said Rosanne Haggerty, President of Community Solutions. “Eric follows another exceptional leader, Brooke Barrett, as Board Chair. All of us are deeply grateful to Brooke, who guided Community Solutions through a period of significant growth and impact.”
Fornell joined the Community Solutions Board of Directors in 2017. He serves as the vice chairman of investment banking at Wells Fargo Securities, focusing on the energy and power sector. Before joining Wells Fargo in 2012, Fornell spent 13 years at J.P. Morgan, where he led the power practice and global natural resources franchise and served as a vice chairman of investment banking. He is a graduate of Amherst College and Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.
“It has been incredible to witness Community Solutions expand its work in such meaningful ways over the years,” said Fornell. “I’m honored to step into this role and continue our efforts to prove that homelessness can be made brief and rare.”
Brooke Barrett’s tenure as Board Chair included the launch of the Built for Zero network and its expansion to include more than 140 US communities and 75 international communities across five nations, as well as Community Solutions’ receipt of the MacArthur Foundation’s 100&Change award to accelerate progress in making homelessness rare and brief.
“My time at Community Solutions has been profoundly fulfilling,” said Barrett. “I am eager to witness Eric thrive in this role and continue advancing our mission.”
