INTERNATIONAL INITIATIVES
Australia:
Australian Alliance to End Homelessness/Advance to Zero
The Advance to Zero Campaign is a groundbreaking national initiative of the Australian Alliance to End Homelessness (AAEH) that supports local collaborative efforts to end rough sleeping homelessness — one community at a time. Using a range of proven approaches from around the world, communities are supported not just to address or even reduce homelessness, but to end it.
Canada:
Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness/Built for Zero Canada
Built for Zero Canada is an ambitious national change effort helping a core group of leading communities end chronic homelessness and veteran homelessness — a first step on the path to eliminating all homelessness in Canada. BFZ Canada’s structured, supportive, and data-driven approach focuses on optimizing local homeless systems, accelerating the adoption of proven practices, and driving continuous improvement. The campaign is powered by the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness. Community Solutions and Built for Zero Canada started working together in 2015.
Denmark: Hjemløsninger
Hjemløsninger is a movement that seeks to prevent and eliminate all forms of homelessness in Denmark by demonstrating that doing so is possible, one community at a time. By August 1, 2026, Hjemløsninger intends to have supported one Danish municipality in measurably ending homelessness for a specific population by reaching functional zero.
France: Action Tank Entreprise et Pauvreté/Synchrø
Synchrø is an initiative of Action Tank Entreprise et Pauvreté to demonstrate that ending homelessness in France is possible, one community at a time. By focusing on linking together key data systems, Synchrø is helping communities across France understand the scale of the problems they face and mobilize resources to solve them.
United Kingdom: Crisis/Built for Zero U.K.
Built for Zero U.K., operated by Crisis UK, is a movement to prevent and end all forms of homelessness in the United Kingdom, one community at a time. By January 1, 2027, it aims to have supported two communities across the U.K. in preventing and sustainably ending homelessness through settled housing for one cohort of people experiencing homelessness, regardless of their eligibility for public funds or other barriers to housing.
